MetroWest Animal Hospital is looking to add an experienced Veterinary Assistant to our growing and collaborative small animal practice in Massachusetts.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior veterinary experience who is eager to continue building their technical skills, increase their confidence and independence, and grow within a supportive team environment. We are looking for someone who is dependable, adaptable, proactive, and genuinely motivated to continue learning within veterinary medicine.

Training and onboarding support will still be provided, including partnered training and structured onboarding during the first several weeks.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting veterinarians and technicians with appointments and patient care
• Supporting surgery and dentistry workflow
• Patient restraint and nursing care
• Assisting with radiographs, laboratory work, and treatments
• Client communication and education
• Maintaining accurate medical records
• Supporting an efficient and collaborative hospital workflow

Schedule & Workflow

• Flexible 4-day or 3.5-day scheduling options
• Every other Saturday rotation
• Dedicated technician appointment column
• Collaborative workflow with growing technician utilization

Compensation for this role ranges from $20-$24/hour, based on credentialing, technical skill set, and relevant veterinary experience.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day
• Exceptional time management, communication, and team collaboration skills
• Familiarity with veterinary software systems & willingness to learn new technology
