Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned outpatient patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
- Ensure all care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals as required for clinical care.
- Design functional treatment programs that support effective patient return to community activities and progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay.
- Participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations.
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Texas.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation including goal writing and functional quality indicator assessments.
- Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional code of conduct and state practice act requirements.
- Completion of all state-mandated continuing education requirements to maintain licensure in good standing.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
- Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students.
- Demonstrated involvement in continuing education, professional organizations, or self-directed professional development activities.
