Overview

Assist in the overall operation of the course and golf shop including guest service, answering telephones, making tee times and monetary transactions related to the sale of green fees and merchandise. Responsible for the general appearance and operation of the golf shop merchandise. Assist the Head Golf Professional and First Assistant Golf Professional with groups, tournaments, events, and daily operation of the golf course.

Experience Required

• Minimum Education - High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum Experience - PGA Member Preferred, PGA Associate Required
• Ability to complete monetary transactions and daily cash receipt forms.
• Familiarity with rules of golf and golf etiquette
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Must work both independently and in a team environment.
• Good to Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written .
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide golf instruction to individuals and groups
• Execute tournaments for corporate and golf groups as directed by management.
• Coordinate and execute member events such as weekly blitz, member-member and member-guest tournaments.
• Assist with scheduling of staff and daily management of staff
• Assist guests, both in the shop and on the telephone, in accordance with established service standards.
• Assist in RGolf (golf software and knowledge) training classes provided to employees from all departments across the resort
• Contribute to the overall enjoyment of the golf experience for each guest.
• Assure safety of all facilities, equipment, merchandise and cash at all times.
• Be proficient in use of the automated tee time system
• Oversee all golf services and operations including the rental and maintenance of golf carts, reservation system, starting, and monitoring of play.
• Complete transactions for sale of green fees, merchandise and rental equipment.
• Assure merchandise is displayed in attractive orderly fashion conducive to sales and golf shop is clean and orderly at all times.
• Assist in the ordering of merchandise as required
• Assist with the selection, development, leadership and retention of talented staff.
• Communicate with rangers and cart attendants as needed to insure service handoffs are completed smoothly and effectively.
• Anticipate guest needs when possible and provide for those needs.
• Provide guests with resort information as to other golf courses, accommodations and restaurants.
• Complete special assignments as requested by management
• Upholds the core values and policies & procedures of the resort.
• Order and ensure all needed supplies for golf and clubhouse operations are stocked.
