Description
Position Summary:
The Physician Assistant (PA) provides highquality, patientcentered medical care under the supervision of a licensed physician in a community health setting. This role supports primary and/or specialty care services while advancing access to care for diverse and underserved populations. The PA works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, behavioral health clinicians, and support staff to deliver comprehensive, coordinated care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions within scope of practice
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with Georgia regulations and collaborative agreements
- Document all care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Provide patient education, counseling, and preventive care guidance
- Coordinate referrals and followup care with specialists and community resources
- Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and team meetings
- Support the organization’s mission of health equity and access to care
Requirements
Required
- Graduate of an ARCPA–accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active, unrestricted Georgia PA license
- NCCPA certification (current)
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Strong communication, clinical, and documentation skills
Preferred
- Experience in primary care, community health, or FQHC settings
- Interest in serving underserved or diverse populations
- New graduates with strong interest in community medicine are encouraged to apply
