Trails Park and Recreation District helps bring recreation, wellness, and connection to residents in the eastern Centennial area. We operate and maintain several parks, trails, open spaces, and facilities all designed to create places where people can get outside, be active, and spend time together. We also offer a wide range of programs for all ages, including youth sports, summer camps, fitness classes, community events, and activities for active aging.

SUMMARY:
Under the general direction and supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Assistant supports the implementation of marketing and communications initiatives for the Trails Park and Recreation District. This position assists with capturing and organizing visual media, creating basic promotional materials, and supporting social media and digital communications.
The Marketing Assistant helps promote District programs, events, and services by capturing photos and video content, assisting with graphic design and promotional materials, and supporting the maintenance of marketing assets across digital platforms. This position provides entry-level marketing support and assists in maintaining brand consistency across communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Capture photos and video at District programs, classes, events, and facilities for use in marketing and promotional materials.
- Edit, organize, and maintain digital photo, video, and marketing assets for marketing use.
- Assist in the creation of promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and digital graphics.
- Assist in drafting and scheduling social media posts across District platforms.
- Support marketing campaigns for District programs, events, and seasonal promotions.
- Assist with distributing marketing materials across District facilities and community locations.
- Help ensure marketing materials follow established District brand standards.
- Provide general support for marketing and communications projects as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Basic photography and visual composition skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content formats.
- Ability to organize and manage digital files and media assets.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff.
- Willingness to learn new tools, software, and marketing practices.
- Positive attitude and ability to represent the District professionally in the community.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is performed in office settings, recreation facilities, and outdoor park environments.
- Ability to move throughout District facilities and event spaces.
- Ability to interact with the public in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel during events or while capturing photos.
- Ability to carry light equipment such as cameras or marketing materials.
- Ability to lift or transport objects up to 25 lbs. assisted.
- Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends for programs or special events.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic experience with photography and social media platforms.
- Familiarity with Canva or similar graphic design tools.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 or similar programs.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while following direction from the Marketing Manager.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years of experience in event or candid photography.
- 1+ year experience with Adobe or other photo editing software.
- 2+ years with Social Media content creation/backend (Meta Business Suite).
- Experience creating flyers, social media graphics, and short-form video content.
