Essential Responsibilities:
You will support one Family Law partner, two Real Estate partners, and one Community Associations associate attorney. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing documents, forms, spreadsheets, and presentations in support of the litigation process from pre-trial through post-trial agreements;
Preparing skeleton settlement and litigation documents;
Electronic filing of timely motions with the court and mailing copies to parties/counsel;
Organizing and maintaining digital files via iManage;
Scheduling meetings, obtaining and providing discovery; coordinating process servers, subpoenas, mediations, and collaborative law meetings;
Calendaring hearings and key litigation dates according to scheduling orders;
Processing intake of new clients;
Assisting attorneys to prepare invoices, assign or correct time entries, proofread, and create cover letters;
Providing marketing support and attorney reimbursement of client and marketing expenses; and
Providing support for special projects as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Successful candidates will have the following experience and abilities:
Minimum of 3 years of family law experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment. Real estate experience is preferred;
Advanced/expert knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
Knowledge of court filings and the ability to eFile in Maryland (MDEC) and/or DC (CaseFileXpress);
Strong organizational skills to manage workload and prioritize multiple projects to meet all deadlines;
Ability to identify priorities, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and remain calm in deadline-driven and high-pressure situations;
Professional and effective written and oral communication skills with excellent grammar, punctuation, tone, and spelling; and
High productivity with minimal instruction and supervision.
Benefits:
The starting salary for this position is $78,000 per year (based on experience), with potential for bonuses.
