We are not only accredited for our General Practice we are AAHA Referral accredited which is defined by AAHA as: A referral practice is one that your primary veterinarian will refer you to for more advanced and specific tests, procedures, surgeries, and/or second opinions. An AAHA-accredited referral practice is required to have board-certified veterinary specialists on staff. Board-certified specialists have graduated from veterinary school, completed several additional years in an internship and residency program, and have passed rigorous training and testing in specific areas, including surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, or neurology.
The distinction of an AAHA Referral Practice acknowledges our mission to provide gold standard of care driven by our commitment to AAHA standards. We foster an environment of growth and embrace the evolving industry of Veterinary Medicine.
Grady Veterinary Hospital is a 24-hour facility offering not only general practice during the day but we offer internal medicine, a specialized surgeon, urgent care walk-ins, and are always here for when emergencies arise. We are looking for passionate, driven, dedicated professionals to join our 24-hour AAHA accredited hospital.
ENTRY LEVEL - WE WILL TRAIN YOU!
Kennel Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and sanitation grooming according to specific instructions.
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and hospital areas to maintain a clean and healthy environment follow AAHA guidelines
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns or changes to veterinary staff.
- Assist our Veterinary Assistants as directed by leadership
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or veterinary staff.
- Maintaining hospital sanitation/disinfection
- Cleaning kennels
- Cleaning exam rooms
- Cleaning floors
- Cleaning restrooms
- Cleaning exterior sidewalks and parking lot
- Laundry
- Stocking supplies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Passion for animal welfare and a desire to work with animals.
- Previous experience working with animals (professional or volunteer) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and pay attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

- Able to understand the importance of upholding AAHA hospital sterilization and disinfection standards with outstanding customer service/teamwork

Our Kennel Assistants hold high stands understanding the importance of disease management and disinfection. They are passionate about pet care through sanitation. Candidates must be able to communicate clearly with our staff members and anticipate the needs of our hospital.

- Shift options based on hospital need:
1p -11pm, 4pm-4am, 7pm-7am, 7pm-3am, 7pm-1am, 9pm-7am
- Sunday - Saturday
- Weekends Required
