Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic First Assistant Golf Professional to join our team. This individual will play a key role in delivering exceptional golf experiences while supporting all aspects of the golf operation. The ideal candidate is a PGA Member in good standing with a true passion for the game, a strong service mindset, and the ability to foster meaningful relationships with members and guests.

This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as the First Assistant Golf Professional will interact daily with a diverse membership, provide high-level instruction, and contribute to a welcoming and professional environment. Responsibilities include assisting with daily golf shop operations, tournament coordination, merchandising, player development programs, and staff supervision.

The successful candidate is career-driven, detail-oriented, and committed to growing the game of golf while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality.

Experience Required

• PGA Member in good standing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Desire to build a long-term career in golf
• Experience at a high-end private club is preferred
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Genuine passion for the game of golf

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of the golf operation
• Coordinate and execute member golf events, leagues, and outside outings
• Provide private instruction, group clinics, and club fitting services
• Build strong relationships with members through daily interaction and playing opportunities
• Assist in merchandising operations including product receival, merchandising displays, and special orders
• Maintain an appropriate level of availability and presence around the entire golf operation to ensure high member satisfaction
• Represent Rockaway River Country Club in local and regional golf tournaments
