Description
Assists in technical and professional tasks performed as they relate to accounting, purchasing, cash-handling training and auditing for the Genesee County Parks and Recreation; maintains Rec Trac software in regards to cash receipting; coordinates Parks purchasing; processes Parks payroll; assists Financial Officer with all related accounting duties; reports to the Parks and Recreation Director or designee.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
60 semester hours from an accredited college with a minimum of 20 semester hours in Accounting -AND- two (2) years' experience in accounting (governmental accounting preferred);
-OR-
Four (4) years' experience in accounting (governmental accounting preferred).
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
Assists Financial Officer with all related accounting duties including but not limited to: audit preparation, preparing financial and other related reports, etc.;
Coordinates obtaining bids, purchasing of materials, supplies and equipment;
Ensures purchasing policies are adhered to;
Ensures accurate and timely payroll changes are reported and payroll is processed;
Conducts cash-handling training and on-site auditing of cash;
Reconciles cash receipts with Rec Trac, bank and credit card statements;
Assists in the development and implementation of reservation software;
Maintains revenue ledgers and supporting accounting controls for Parks;
Prepares special reports and projects for Parks revenue facilities;
Assists in compiling and preparing special reports and projects of a financial or purchasing nature;
Performs related duties as required.
