The Kent County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is in search of Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys to join the Criminal Division.
The successful candidates will perform duties associated with warrant writing, negotiating settlements, trying District and/or Circuit Court misdemeanor and felony cases, and appearing in various courts of the County as a representative of the Office of the Prosecutor. This role is responsible for performing legal research and discussing legal problems with citizens, officials, and law enforcement agencies.
Pay Range Depending on Qualifications:
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney I - II: $79,543 - $97,416 Annually
Minimum Qualifications

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney I:
Graduation from an accredited law school and membership in the State Bar of Michigan. Those that have taken the State Bar Exam but are still awaiting results may be considered. Working knowledge of accepted courtroom practices and procedures, knowledge of legal research and reference sources, and basic computer literacy required.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney II:
Must possess a Juris Doctorate or Bachelor of Law and membership in the State Bar of Michigan, combined with three years of progressively responsible experience as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney or Trial Attorney. Thorough working knowledge of Michigan criminal and civil codes, family and domestic relations statutes, appellate law, case law and accepted courtroom practices and procedures is required.
