Assistant Women's Basketball Coach (AP26-072)
To build on a strong foundation of achievement and contribute to the realization of its ambitious institutional goals, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for the position of Assistant Women's Basketball Coach (AP26-072). As the only Division I institution in the Metro East region of St. Louis, SIUE Athletics is on the rise. This position will assist the Head Coach with building a championship caliber program in the Ohio Valley Conference.

What You Will Do
- The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting in the organization and administration of the Women's Basketball program in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University, Ohio Valley Conference and NCAA with an emphasis on recruitment of student-athletes, player development, and practice and game preparation.
- The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach must have a commitment to developing a competitive NCAA Division I Women's Basketball program, while maintaining an emphasis on the academic success of the student-athlete.
- The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will be expected to assist the Head Coach with the administration of the program in a manner that promotes the health, safety and welfare of the student-athlete.
- Compliance with NCAA rules is of the utmost importance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. As a member of the athletics department staff it is expected that the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will have a full understanding of the NCAA rules that pertain to the position.
- It is also expected that the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will comply with all NCAA rules and if he/she becomes aware, or have reasonable cause to believe, that a violation of a rule has occurred he/she will immediately report it to the Director of Athletics or his/her designee.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Previous collegiate or professional coaching or playing experience
- Strong communication and organization skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- 5 years of collegiate coaching experience as an NCAA Division I or II assistant coach, or NCAA Division II or III, NAIA or NJCAA head coach experience, or professional playing experience
