Overview

Pine Valley Country Club is an 18-hole, private, member-owned golf facility located in Wilmington, North Carolina. Established in 1955, the club offers a premier golf experience along with a variety of amenities for members and their guests.

The club is currently undergoing a full course restoration project designed by architect Kris Spence. Construction began in January and is anticipated to be completed with a reopening in Fall 2026.

This comprehensive renovation includes the installation of a new Rain Bird irrigation system, enhanced drainage, complete reconstruction of greens and tees, lined bunkers, and full course reshaping and re-grassing. Upon completion, the course will feature TifEagle Bermuda grass greens and TifTuf Bermuda grass on fairways, tees, and rough areas.

We are seeking a positive, hardworking individual with a passion for maintaining and improving golf course conditions on a daily basis. This position will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to execute daily maintenance operations and play an integral role throughout the restoration project, offering an exceptional opportunity for professional growth and hands-on experience.

Experience Required

• Prior experience with irrigation systems, including repair and operation, is required
• Experience in fertilizer and pesticide application, including calibration, record keeping, and sprayer operation, is required
• A North Carolina State Pesticide Applicator's License is required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe
• A 2- or 4-year degree in turfgrass management, agronomy, or a related field is required
• 2-3 years of golf course maintenance experience is required
• Previous Assistant Superintendent or AIT (Assistant-in-Training) experience is preferred
• A strong understanding of the game of golf and expected course conditions is essential
