Description

The Department of Finance and Insurance within the College of Business at East Carolina University invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month faculty position beginning August 2027. High-quality teaching is expected, and the successful candidate will be able to teach some combination of graduate and undergraduate courses in a variety of courses within the finance discipline. The standard teaching load is 9 s.h. in each of the fall and spring semesters. Additional duties include research/creative activities leading to quality publications as required for tenure, and, appropriate service to the students, university, community, and profession. The department encourages experiential learning activities and the faculty candidate will be expected to contribute to those activities. This appointment will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Requirements

This appointment requires a PhD in the teaching field or related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution that satisfies credentialing under SACS guidelines. Candidates with PhD newly conferred at the time of initial appointment will hold the probationary rank of Assistant Professor. ABD candidates will also be initially appointed with the probationary term rank of Assistant Professor and must have the terminal degree conferred prior to their first reappointment.
