Description
Pearl at Kalauao, located in Aiea, HI, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Assistant Golf Professional! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.Compensation:
$15.00-$18.00 per hour.
General Purpose
Assists in administering all daily operations, including but not limited to: facilitating sales, assisting with merchandise, operating the POS system, managing handicap and tee sheet applications, and working ranger, starter, guest relations, outside service, or golf shop shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides a memorable guest experience
- Assists in managing the facility and staff
- Processes customer reservations for guests of the golf course
- Assists in coordinating individual, group, and tournament play as directed by the Golf Operations Manager and/or Head Golf Professional
- Assumes the Golf Operations Manager's duties in his or her absence
- Produces daily reports on rounds, sales, and other relevant data for management
- Oversees the Outside Guest Services department and personnel
- Works closely with the OGS to monitor all aspects of play, including guest satisfaction, starting, pace of play, safety on the course, and golf course markings
- Provides customer service to arriving guests to help expedite the check-in process
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements
- One to two years of golf industry experience preferred
- College degree (PGM) preferred
- PGA Member or Apprentice
- Must have strong customer/guest orientation skills
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must have highly polished interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people easily and quickly
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be dependable
Physical Demands
- Regularly stands, walks, and sits; occasionally climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches
- Frequently uses hands and reaches with hands and arms
- Frequently talks or hears, tastes or smells; occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds
Environment/Noise
- Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
- Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions
- Noise level is moderate
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences
- Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g., associates are required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers; equipment manuals may be in English)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with computerized POS and tee time systems
