Founded in 1899, the Country Club of Mobile (CCM) is one of the Gulf Coast's most storied and respected private clubs. Nestled in the heart of Mobile, Alabama, CCM has served as a cornerstone of the community for well over a century, providing members and their families with an unparalleled private club experience rooted in tradition, excellence, and camaraderie.

T H E  G O L F  F A C I L I T Y
The CCM golf experience centers on a magnificent 18-hole Championship Course originally designed by the legendary Donald Ross, whose timeless design philosophy has graced some of the most celebrated courses in American golf history. In 2018, the course underwent a comprehensive renovation by renowned golf course architect Jerry Pate, restoring and enhancing the classic Ross characteristics while incorporating modern agronomic improvements.
The renovation has positioned CCM as a premier competitive venue. Since its completion, the club has proudly hosted two Alabama State Senior Amateur Championships and one Alabama
State Amateur Championship - a testament to the quality, challenge, and prestige of the facility.
The golf operation is supported by a dedicated outside staff, a well-appointed pro shop, and a membership that is passionate about the game. This is a course and a club that inspires pride in everyone who works here.

Experience Required

Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S  &  R E Q U I R E M E N T S

Required:
• Demonstrated passion for golf and delivering exceptional member/guest experiences
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and tournament weeks
• Professional demeanor and appearance consistent with a prestigious private club environment
• Reliable, punctual, and highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting

Preferred:
• PGA Member or current PGA apprentice enrolled in the PGA PGM program (preferred, but not required - the right candidate will be fully supported)
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Golf Genius tournament software

• Prior experience in a private club or high-end golf operation
• Demonstrated teaching ability and interest in player development

Essential Responsibilities

CCM is seeking an enthusiastic, service-oriented, and skilled individual to join the golf operations team as Assistant Golf Professional. Reporting directly to the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf, this is an exciting full-time opportunity to develop your career in a high-quality private club environment.

With a membership of approximately 1,100 members and an annual volume of nearly 19,000 rounds, CCM offers a dynamic, high-activity operation that will challenge and reward a motivated golf professional. The club also boasts a large and active junior golf market -providing exceptional opportunity to grow and lead player development programming for the next generation of golfers.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about growing the game, delivering exceptional member experiences, and contributing to a first-class golf operation with genuine potential for professional advancement.

 

K E Y  R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S
• Supervise, schedule, and manage the outside golf staff, ensuring professional and attentive service on the first tee, cart barn, and practice facilities
• Provide individual golf lessons and group clinics to members and guests, with direct income potential from lesson and clinic revenue
• Support and help lead CCM's robust junior golf program, serving a large and active junior member market through clinics, camps, competitions, and individual instruction
• Assist with tournament operations, including preparation, rules officiating, scoring, and on-course management
• Maintain and develop proficiency in Golf Genius tournament management software for event setup, registration, and results
• Deliver outstanding customer service in the pro shop, including merchandise sales, tee time management, and member relations
• Assist with pro shop inventory management, merchandising, and retail presentations
• Uphold and enforce club policies, pace-of-play standards, and course etiquette

• Hourly wage: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications
• Overtime pay during tournament weeks
