Kapalua Golf Course in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii is excited to announce the exceptional seasonal summer opportunity for an Assistant Golf Professional. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment providing superior service to this golf resort managed by Troon.

General Purpose: In collaboration with the Head Golf Professional, administers all daily operations including sales, POS operations, tee sheet management, tournament operations, GPS system oversight, and supervision of starters, marshals, and range attendants. Serves as the Guest Services Manager and directly oversees all facets of the Guest Services staff including club and shoe rental management.

Experience Required

• Associate's degree (AA); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• PGA Class "A" Member in good standing preferred.
• Current Maui County Liquor Card.
• Current Hawaii Food Handlers Safety Card.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and speak English is required.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with computerized POS, GPS, tournament software and tee time system.
• Maintains a credible golf game.
• Extensive understanding of the rules of golf.

Essential Responsibilities

• Administers all point of sales application revisions and needs as it applies to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and guest billing.
• Assists Head Golf Professional with policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation.
• Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-in, receives payments from guests, and resolves billing discrepancies.
• Initiates and promotes golf and range activities.
• Works closely with the Head Golf Professional on Bay Golf Course group outings and events, including preparations for scorecards, cart placards, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, tee gifts, pairing sheets, competitions, range preparations, and hole assignments.
• Maintains a clean and orderly cart barn and back-of-house facilities.
• Assists with retail procurement, merchandising, and sales.
• Assists in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, disciplining associates, and resolving complaints.
• Ensures effective orientation and training for new associates and assists in developing ongoing training programs.
• Assists in monitoring business volume forecasts and planning manpower, productivity, costs, and expenses accordingly.
• Maintains excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Oversees Bay Café Snack Shop operations including staffing, ordering products, reconciling invoices, compiling information, updating the SOP manual, and controlling POS/menu functions.
• Conducts staff meetings with subordinates.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
