Overview

Our company owns and operates three Donald Ross designed golf courses in Southern Pines, NC- Pine Needles, Mid Pines, and Southern Pines Golf Club. All clubs are 18 holes and Pine Needles and Mid Pines both have lodging. We are very proud to be able to offer 54 holes of original Donald Ross routing.

As a family owned and operated resort we understand the significance of creating an environment that allows people to be successful in their professional life as well as their personal life. While at work, candidates can expect to be in an upbeat and high volume environment were the guests are excited about being our historic resorts and everyday brings new learning opportunities.

Pine Needles -With a rich history of championship, host site of 4 US Women's Opens(most recently in 2022), world class in instruction and upscale lodging, it is widely considered the flagship property for the company. The course is constantly ranked as one of the top golf course in the state as well as nationally ranked as a course you need to play/visit.

Mid Pines is a classic Donald Ross design that captures the true character of the native Sandhills landscape. It underwent an award winning restoration in 2013 and is now recognized as a Top 50 Resort course and Top 100 golf course (Classical Category).

Southern Pines Golf Club - acquired by the company July of 2020, this property was designed by Donald Ross in 1906 and has been a true gem in the Sandhills since. The course has undergone an incredible restoration and rebranding the past two years. The future at SPGC is very exciting.

Experience Required

• PGA Member, Apprentice or PGM Student recommended

• Prior experience working in golf operations recommended

• Must be prolific with computers specifically: POS system and Tee Time management software along with Microsoft Office, Excel and Publisher

• Knowledge of Golf Genius software preferred

Essential Responsibilities

Candidates can expect the traditional responsibilities that come along with being an assistant golf professional including the following

• Assisting the Head Golf Professional with golf operational duties

• Provide 1st class service to all members, resort guest, and outside guests

• Handle daily golf shop operations including: inventory, bookkeeping, guest check-in, and phone calls

• Work with and communicate to outside operations team members, golf course maintenance, and food & beverage associates

• Conducting and an assisting in tournament operations

• Teaching golf schools/clinics, and private lessons.

Candidates can expect to be exposed to a broad range of golf experiences and given primary areas of responsibilities. Our resorts are a very active and host tournaments, golf schools, clinics, golf groups, member events and the golf shops are stock with a wide range of premier golf brands.
