Overview

The Country Club of Oxford is seeking a full-time Assistant Golf Professional to become part of a team that works cohesively to deliver great experiences to the membership on a daily basis. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service and possess strong interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, & strong teaching skills. This assistant golf professional position will be exposed to all aspects of our golf operation in preparation to advance their career in the golf industry. This individual must possess and maintain a respectable golf game and be willing to play with members and guests as time permits. This position is entrusted with the daily operations of the golf shop relating to tee sheet supervision, enforcing pace of play, supervising of outside services, handicap and tournament management.

Experience Required

2+ years of experience in golf course management or a related industry.

Current PGA member or have completed Level II of the PGM program or Must be working towards membership in the PGA of America

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.

Available on weekends, holidays and on occasion extended hours.

Working knowledge of Golf Genius Tournament Software

Working knowledge in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Must have a Positive Attitude and be a Team Player

Essential Responsibilities

Assists members, prospective members, and guests including but not limited to tee time reservations, checking in members and their guests, club information, golf rates, and club policies

Maintains a very clean and well displayed golf shop. Assists in selection of men's and women's apparel.

Provides daily tee sheet and guest information to both inside and outside staff members

Assists the Head Golf Professional with all member and outside tournaments

Assists in the management and coordination, marketing and execution of golf events, tournaments, and special promotions.

Assists Head Golf Professional with providing golf instruction through lessons and clinics to juniors, beginners and experienced players.

Interprets and enforces the club's rules and regulations and ensures that the outside services staff is familiar with and enforces these rules.

Regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as required.

Uniforms: The club will provide uniforms to the Assistant Professional that enables he/she to dress in a professional manner daily

Education/ Allowance: The club will reimburse the Assistant Professional for a percentage of continuing education.

Insurance: The Assistant Golf Professional is eligible for health insurance provided by the club.

Vacation: Two weeks vacation time.
