Overview

Oaks Country Club is actively seeking a candidate to take our operations to the next level! Position includes flexible schedule with extra time off in the off-season and an extended weekend off each month!

Oaks Country Club is a 100-year-old sanctuary of tradition and charm. Established in 1921, Oaks Country Club is one of the oldest country clubs in Oklahoma. The original 18-Hole Championship golf course was designed by A.W. Tillinghast. It prominently features two of Tillinghast's iconic trademarks; an exceptional routing using the most interesting ground in playing areas and three relatively easy opening holes paired with three extremely challenging closers. The closing stretch of 16, 17 & 18 may be the hardest finishing three holes in Oklahoma.

While steeped in 100 years of tradition, recently the club has aggressively looked to the future. In 2014, the membership approved an almost $10 renovation plan. Phase 1 focused on the golf course, pool and pool clubhouse improvements. The renovated championship golf course was opened to national acclaim. With great foresight a six-hole par 3 aptly named "The Acorn" was added during the renovation. The Acorn is a popular place for junior, families and the occasional settling of bets.

In 2019, phase two of the renovation was completed focusing on member indoor and out dining experiences. The member areas of the clubhouse were renovated to include new spaces for family dining, adult dining, men's and women's locker room spaces and the addition of outdoor seating behind the 18 th green.

Most recently, a renovated practice facility was opened with the addition of a four-bay performance center. The performance center features cutting edge technology for year-round playing and practice opportunities. Oaks Country Club has prominently established itself as the premier family club in Tulsa and is looking forward to another 100 years of sustained success.

Experience Required

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Ability to communicate with at a high level with members, guests and fellow employees. Provide guest service and follow instructions.
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail and proper record keeping methods.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and provide various reports on a timely basis.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of the game and rules of golf.

Qualification Standards

Education

Any combination of education or experience equivalent to the graduation of high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform to the position standards. High school diploma required.

Experience

Minimum 12 months experience in golf operations is required.

Licenses or Certifications

Must be a registered PGA apprentice in good standing.

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 pounds, bend, run or sprint short distances; stand for extended periods of time, able to withstand exposure to heat, cold, and elements of nature.

Essential Responsibilities

The Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Golf Professional in the management of day-to-day golf operations of the facility. The position is responsible to supervise and manage total golf operations in the absence of the Head Golf Professional. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all members and their guests.

Essential Functions

• Provide first-class customer service to members and their guests.
• Organize and execute first-class member events for the Men's Golf Association, Women's Golf Association & Couple's Golf Association.
• Play golf and create goodwill with the Oaks membership.
• Assist with the execution of a season-long yearly junior program that develops juniors throughout their life cycle at the club.
• Assist with the execution of an adult development program for golfers of all abilities.
• Provide individual instruction to the Oaks membership.
• Perform merchandise display, purchasing, special order and inventory controls.
• Promote the dress code and pace of play policies of the club.
• Become certified in club repair and participate in the golf operations club repair service.
• Assist in the training and management of all current and future golf operation employees as needed.
• Assist the development of the golf operations budget and work to ensure the budget is met.
• Maintain a complete knowledge of the rules of the game of golf
• Any other duties as needed or determined by the Head Golf Professional.
