OverviewCypresswood Golf Club is currently undergoing major renovations including a new clubhouse, complete with a full-service bar and grill, 344-person banquet space, lighted-nine holes for night golf, lighted driving range with a 2-acre natural grass putting course, and twenty TopTracer technology bays, all scheduled for completion in October of 2026.
Job Description:
The Assistant Golf Professional is a key member of the golf shop team and is responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf oversee and providing direction in several aspects of Cypresswood Golf Club's operation, including but not limited to, Customer Service, Tournament Operations, Golf Shop Merchandising, Human Resource Management, and Golf Programming .
- Customer Service - Lead by example always maintaining positive and productive relationships with Cypresswood's Golf Shop, Food & Beverage, Guest Services, and Volunteer Staffs to ensure all guests are constantly and consistently extended "best in class" customer service. Cypresswood Golf Club strives to always exceed customer expectations in terms of both service and value.
- Tournament & Golf Outing Operations - Aid the Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf, and Tournament Director by working closely with group outing coordinators from the sales process through the event's operation to ensure proper event organization and setup with the goal of making each event a success for our clients and establishing long-term relationships with their group. Exceptional service and execution begin with first contact with coordinators and continue throughout post-event follow-up.
- Golf Shop Merchandising - Work closely with the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional and the Foresight Golf Director of Retail by monitoring golf shop neatness, proper inventory counts, ordering, receiving, and rotation of soft and hard goods. Share customer comments and suggestions with the Head Golf Professional and Retail Manager to facilitate a desired inventory of goods for sale.
- Human Resources - Play an active role in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising Cypresswood Golf Club's Golf Operations Staff, to specifically include the Guest Service, and Starter/Marshal Team Members . Develop staff members through coaching to advance effectiveness and talent within our team.
- Golf Programming - Help organize and promote Cypresswood Golf Club's Player Development Program to the facility's current core-avid golfers as well as work with the Director of Better Golf to Promote "Play Better Golf -The Foresight Golf Way," "Learn to Play Golf" efforts, and administer Junior Academy.
Experience Required
Employment Standards
- PGA Apprentice or PGA Member in good standing.
- Minimum two to four years of experience in a service-oriented hospitality industry, such as: golf course management, hotel, resort, restaurant, and retail or sports management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
Essential Responsibilities
Typical Functions
- Positively interact with guests to ensure their visit is a first-class experience from the time of arrival, throughout their golfing experience. Be an ambassador for the property and company.
- Ensure that the golf car fleet, clubhouse grounds, and main clubhouse facilities are clean and free of any unsightly trash or clutter.
- Maintain professional and pleasant telephone manners.
- Handle customer inquiries and/or complaints in accordance with Cypresswood Golf Club's policies and procedures.
- Work with the Head Golf Professional and Golf Professional Staff to constantly monitor Cypresswood Golf Club's tee sheet to ensure maximum utilization of each day's business.
- Keep golfers adequately informed of the activities on the golf product and encourage their participation when necessary. Be aware of golf course maintenance programs and course conditions.
- Develop dialogue with customers concerning their playing habits at Foresight Golf facilities and other golf courses. Note and report on customer likes and dislikes with our product.
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with Cypresswood's Head Golf Professional, Food & Beverage Director and Golf Course Superintendent on all pertinent matters.

Health Insurance - Health insurance is available through Foresight Golf. There is a 90-day waiting period before you are eligible. If you elect to have health insurance coverage, the company will pay a majority of your insurance premium. Dental, dependents, and other supplemental policies are available at your expense. Rates and percentages of company paid premiums are subject to change as our overall insurance costs change. This insurance program is part of a section 125 plan and is deducted prior to income taxes. Literature is available regarding insurance upon request.
Retirement Planning - Foresight Golf provides a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan to help employees accumulate financial resources for retirement. The plan allows employees to contribute up to $24,500 annually. Foresight will match 15% of your investment to the plan up to 15% of your annual salary. You have the option to direct the investments into professionally managed investment funds or pick your own investments available in the plan. To be eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan an employee must complete 12 months of service and be 21 years of age or older. Employees may join the plan on the first day of the quarter following completion of their first year of service.
Vacation - Foresight Golf believes in the value of rest and relaxation away from the workplace and as a result, provides its employees with paid vacation. Upon completion of your first year of employment, you are eligible for one week (40 hours) of paid vacation. After your fifth year of employment, you will be eligible for three weeks (80 hours) of paid vacation.

Uniforms Allowance - Uniforms will be provided to you in the form of 7 golf shirts per year. These will be selected from pro shop inventory. All other golf shop merchandise will be sold to you at cost plus ten percent to cover shipping and handling.
Employee Meals - Employee meals will be provided to you at the discounted employee price, which is approximately 50% off regular price.
