Job Summary
Montefiore is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to serve in its Office of Legal Affairs to provide legal advice and assistance across the organization to all levels of Montefiore associates including directors, administrators, clinicians, and senior executives. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of legal matters including general healthcare issues, contract negotiations, commercial transactions, IT and data use matters, AI-related issues, clinical service arrangements, physician practice acquisitions, HIPAA and privacy issues, corporate governance and structuring, regulatory compliance, intellectual property matters, and patient care issues.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in the state of New York Required
- Minimum of 5 years of significant legal work experience, primarily in transactional matters, with a focus in contract negotiation, either as in-house counsel or external legal counsel Required.
- Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as are strong client service, problem solving, project management, and negotiation capabilities.
