- Assistant Athletic Director Facilities and Operations
Description
Primary Function: Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all athletics facilities, including the UNI-Dome, McLeod Center, and outdoor venues, ensuring effective management for both internal and external events; responsible for maximizing facility utilization and revenue generation by coordinating event scheduling, cultivating partnerships, and negotiating agreements with external users while minimizing conflicts with university activities; emphasizes exceptional customer service, event logistics, and staff supervision, including hiring, training, and coordinating event personnel and third-party services; partners closely with campus units and community organizations to support event planning, facility improvements, and operational priorities; assists with budgeting, financial management, and event-related accounting for athletics facilities, ensuring accurate forecasting, expense tracking, and revenue reporting; and maintains compliance with institutional, conference, and regulatory standards, while continuously evaluating operations, enhancing customer experience, and supporting short- and long-term facility planning initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; at least two years of experience in administrative functions related to facilities and event management including revenue producing events; excellent communication and relationship building skills; and supervision experience required. Intercollegiate facility experience preferred. Occasional local travel and evening and weekend work necessary. Must abide by the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, the Missouri Valley Football Conference, the Big 12 Conference, and the University of Northern Iowa.
