Overview

Position is responsible for handling the day to day operation as well as the supervision of the Golf Shop staff, starters/rangers and range/cart attendants in the absence of the Director of Golf. This individual will assist in conducting an efficient operation as well as the promotion of the golf club and Shell Point Community.

Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Enrollment in level 3 or completion of PGA of America apprenticeship program.
• Experience in the private or semi-private club sector.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assists in the management of the golf operation and ensures that the golf course and facilities are ready to use on a day-to-day basis.
• Works with the Merchandise Coordinator to make sure that all golf shop displays are well stocked and organized.
• Collects greens fees and other payments, makes bank deposits and accurately accounts for all funds collected on a daily basis.
• Maintains adequate inventory of merchandise to meet sales goals.
• Supervises employees in the golf pro shop as well as starters/rangers and range/cart attendants to ensure a consistent, high quality of service is provided.
• Directs play on the golf course and instructs guests on course rules.
• Assists in maintaining the golf course grounds, scheduling and controlling tee times and preparing tee sheets.
• Assists with the monitoring and biweekly submissions of payroll for the golf operation.
• Conducts and administers all tournaments and member golf association activities.
• Conducts golf clinics for all segments in addition to private lessons in an effort to increase interest and participation at the golf club.
• Assists with the planning in both capital and operational budgets.
• Conducts Fittings and Demo days to drive hard good sales.
• Assists with the maintenance and information provided on the club website.
