Harvard Vanguard is unique in the Boston area as a non-profit multi-specialty physician group that brings primary care together with more than 35 specialties to provide patients with comprehensive medical care. Harvard Vanguard's exceptional medical professionals, over 500 physicians and 1,000 other healthcare practitioners such as psychologists, dentists, optometrists, nurses, nurse practitioners, midwives, physicians' assistants, speech therapists and physical therapists, supported by a strong staff, serve about 350,000 adult and pediatric patients. Most of Harvard Vanguard's offices feature convenient on-site laboratories, imaging services and pharmacies.
Company History
Harvard Vanguard has a long history of partnering with leading institutions to improve patient care. Many of its physicians teach at Harvard Medical School or other institutions or support clinical research. Harvard Vanguard is an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Harvard Vanguard physicians are on the staff of Boston's leading academic medical centers and community hospitals, including Brigham and Women's, Beth Israel Deaconess, and Children's hospitals. Harvard Vanguard accepts insurance from most
major health plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Neighborhood Health Plan and Tufts Health Plan.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
Harvard Vanguard was awarded recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Physician Practice Connections program for its work in advanced medical records, patient education and support, and care management. Additionally Harvard Vanguard was recently presented with the Business Leadership Award from Jewish Vocational Services and has received recognition from the Greater Boston Business Council for our inclusive workforce in the GLBT community.
