Open Summary Lincoln Memorial University is seeking a Preclinical Assistant Professor of Dental Medicine to join the faculty of the College of Dental Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee.
This position plays an important role in preparing the next generation of dentists by teaching foundational preclinical skills in a simulation and laboratory environment. Faculty work closely with dental students as they develop operative techniques, prosthodontic procedures, dental anatomy skills, and professional clinical habits that will carry into their patient care experiences.

Position Overview The Preclinical Assistant Professor of Dental Medicine is responsible for the instruction and supervision of dental students in simulation and laboratory settings.
Faculty in this role support the foundational training of students in areas including:
The instructor ensures students develop strong hand skills, critical thinking abilities, and professional standards necessary for entry into the clinical phase of the dental curriculum.
Responsibilities may include:
Teaching and supervising students in simulation laboratories Demonstrating restorative and prosthodontic procedures Evaluating student work using established grading rubrics Supporting assessment and feedback processes Mentoring students in their professional development Participating in curriculum delivery and academic activities within the College of Dental Medicine
Candidate Profile Required Qualifications DDS, DMD, or equivalent dental degree from an accredited institution Proficiency in restorative dental procedures and operative techniques Eligibility for dental licensure or faculty permit in the state of Tennessee strongly preferred Commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship Interest in preclinical dental education and simulation-based learning
Preferred Qualifications Prior teaching experience in a dental academic setting or simulation laboratory Familiarity with preclinical grading rubrics and assessment tools Experience with digital dentistry, CAD/CAM, or virtual simulation technologies Commitment to fostering an inclusive and student-centered learning environment
