The Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Colorado at Boulder invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in pre-modern Japanese literature for the academic year 2026–27. Candidates should have their PhD conferred prior to the start of the appointment. The successful candidate will have well-focused research objectives and contribute to the department’s Japanese curriculum by teaching courses on Japanese literature and culture, including Classical Japanese language, at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Requirements
This is a one-year appointment for the academic year 2026-2027. The anticipated course load for this appointment will be three courses each semester for a total of six courses. Candidates must have a PhD degree conferred prior to the start of appointment on August 13, 2026.
