The Finance Department is seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Assistant Finance Director who is committed to excellence in public service, strong financial stewardship, and supporting a growing community. We are looking for a strategic leader who can guide key financial functions, strengthen internal controls, and serve as a trusted partner to the Finance Director and County leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Key leadership role supporting the Finance Director in managing the County’s financial operations.
Assist in budget development, monitoring, and long-term financial planning.
Oversee internal controls, ensure process improvement, and maintain compliance with State and Federal requirements.
Manage accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
Support debt management, investment oversight, and annual audit preparation.
Serve as Acting Finance Director in the Director’s absence to ensure continuity of operations.
Uphold Granville County’s commitment to transparency, accuracy, and sound fiscal stewardship.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
NC Local Government Finance Officer Certification (or ability to obtain)
5+ years of professional accounting or governmental finance experience
