Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a dedicated Vice Chair of Quality. The Vice Chair of Quality will advance the Department’s mission to improve patient outcomes through safe, timely, efficient and patient-focused care. We seek a collaborative, creative and visionary physician leader, who will create a culture of innovation and high reliability, implement and oversee performance improvement initiatives, engage faculty and trainees to develop and maintain best practices, and partner with other leaders across the institution to drive success.
Opportunity Highlights:
Quality Improvement Leadership: Design, implement, and lead quality improvement initiatives across the Department of Medicine for both inpatient and ambulatory care.
Council and Committee Management: Chair the Department of Medicine Quality Council and the Peer Review Committee, overseeing case reviews, OPPE, and FPPE.
Data and Reporting: Develop and manage quality dashboards to identify areas for improvement and track progress.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to standards from organizations like the Joint Commission and CMS.
Patient Experience: Work with the Office of Patient Experience to enhance patient care.
Education and Mentorship: Create quality and safety programs for residents and fellows, and mentor faculty in quality improvement.
Scholarly Activity: Promote research and publications in the field of quality and safety.
The ideal candidate will be board-certified in Internal Medicine and/or an Internal Medicine subspecialty with significant leadership experience in healthcare quality and safety, a proven track record of implementing successful quality improvement initiatives and the desire to be a part of a dynamic, high-functioning team. This role combines clinical, administrative and academic responsibilities with the flexibility to shape the role based on the individual candidate.
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board Certification in Internal Medicine and/or an Internal Medicine subspecialty.
Experience:
A minimum of three years of experience after completing residency or fellowship.
Preferred experience in quality improvement with a strong record of publications and presentations.
Skills & Abilities:
Exceptional written and oral communication, interpersonal, organizational, teaching, and analytical skills.
Proven ability to initiate, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A collaborative, empathic, and team-oriented approach to working with patients, families, and healthcare professionals across various disciplines.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a faculty appointment at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.
Must be able to obtain and maintain credentials as an Attending Physician at HUMC.

Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the specialty and/or sub-specialty.
Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
