Veterinary Technician Assistant - BovineFull-time: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Elgin, TX
Elgin Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You
As a Bovine Veterinary Technician Assistant, you'll support daily operations of the bovine veterinary team by assisting with cleaning and sanitation, surgical room sterilization, inventory room organization, and laboratory preparation tasks. The role is essential in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient clinical environment.
Role Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of bovine facilities, treatment areas, and workspaces in accordance with established protocols
- Clean, assemble, sterilize, and properly store surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist with inventory room operations, including stocking, organizing supplies, monitoring expiration dates, and reporting low inventory levels
- Prepare laboratory materials and workspaces for procedures
- Assist Veterinary Technicians and Doctors with appointments
- Follow biosafety, animal welfare, and workplace guideline at all times
- Assist staff as needed with basic tasks related to bovine care or procedures
- Maintain a professional, team-oriented attitude while supporting veterinarian and technicians
- Assist with other tasks as required
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Must have experience working with bovine
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude
- Must be able to work well independently and as a team
- Have a teamwork mindset, be able to anticipate veterinarian needs
- Have exceptional dedication to animal care and facility cleanliness
- Ability to perform essential job functions outdoors in varying weather conditions, including but not limited to excessive heat or cold, rain, and icy conditions, with our without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods as required by the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Available to work 40+ hours a week
