Introduction

We are seeking an experienced investment analyst to cover the Industrial Sector.

The analyst will join a close-knit team that is passionate about public equity investing, focused on generating differentiated alpha through rigorous fundamental research and active engagement with portfolio managers, director of research and teammates.

The role requires high ownership of sector coverage and stock recommendations, with accountability for idea generation, conviction and outcomes. Investment ratings are actively maintained and communicated through concise high quality research and ongoing dialogue.

Responsibilities

1. Sector ownership and idea generation: Maintain deep, current knowledge of the Industrial sector Generate differentiated investment insights through primary research, management engagement and industry networks.
2. Active stock recommendations and portfolio impact: Own active buy/sell ratings, with clear articulation of thesis, risks, valuation and expected return.
3. High quality research communication: Produce clear, concise research that frames incremental insight versus consensus and supports investment decision-making. Communicate views effectively with PMs and peers through written work and debate.
4. Collaboration and broader firm contribution: Work with the team to challenge assumptions, improve idea quality and share knowledge across the firm.

Periodic travel is required. The team is based in Singapore, with a focus on global developed markets.

The individual is expected to be a strong culture carrier and to support firmwide initiatives that enhance performance, collaboration, and talent development.

Requirements

• 3 - 6 years of experience in direct equity research, preferably covering Industrials
• Proven track record of independent thinking, and generation of proprietary, value-added, investment recommendations
• Ability to maintain active coverage of multiple stocks which includes maintenance research and new idea generation.
• Strong fundamental analysis skills and sound understanding of valuation techniques
• Clear, articulate communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to engage constructively.
• High integrity, strong emotional intelligence, empathy, and a commitment to Temasek's corporate MERITT values
• Progressive buy-side experience, at either a long-only or hedge fund preferred
