Overview

Shaker Run Golf Club is a premier semi-private facility located in the beautiful, rolling Warren County countryside. Shaker Run is just 30 minutes North of Cincinnati and 20 minutes South of Dayton, near historic Lebanon, Ohio. The course features 27 holes of championship golf, offering bent grass fairways, tees and greens. Water hazards come into play on 14 holes with sculpted bunkers and beautiful woodscapes throughout to challenge the skills of any golfer. The original 18 holes were designed by the renowned Arthur Hills and opened in 1979. The third nine, Meadows, was added in 1999 and was designed by Michael Hurdzan & Dana Fry. Recognized by Golf Digest as one of the premier golf courses in Ohio, Shaker Run has hosted many notable golf events including The Kroger Senior Tournament Qualifier, Nike Miami Valley Tournament, the 1988 Ohio Amateur Championship and the 2005 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship.

Additional amenities include a full practice facility that includes an expansive driving range, a short game area and putting green. Along with the full outdoor practice facility the golf academy houses state of the art Foresight simulators.

The club has 175 total members, and along with public play combines for approximately 40,000 annual rounds. The golf program offers an active schedule for members and outside corporate and charity events.

Typical work week will be 40-45 hours. Flexible schedule.

Experience Required

• College degree a plus but not necessary.
• Strong Customer Service Focus
• Good working knowledge of GHIN, Golf Genius, MS Word and Excel
• Golf experience at a high volume facility would be helpful.
• Playing golf with the members.
• Teaching individuals and groups.
• Ideas on how to build ladies and junior programs.

Essential Responsibilities

• Help in the supervision and management of the daily golf operations, through the supervision of the Head Golf Professional, in a professional and efficient manner.
• Provide excellent customer service, professional advice and assistance to all patrons.
• Control and manage play for members, guests and visiting players.
• Assist in monitoring of the Jonas tee-time management system.
• Help manage the total operation of the practice facility.
• High focus on outside operations so members/guest can enjoy his/her golfing experience.
• Provide golf instruction and clinics that is consistent with instructional methods, policies and procedures of Shaker Run Golf Club.
• Assist in supervision and training of Golf Shop and Outside Services personnel as directed by the Head Golf Professional.
• Assist in display, inventory, control, promotion and sales of merchandise in conjunction with the Head Golf Professional.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
• Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services.
• Assist in management of handicap program.
• Assist in managing men's tournaments, member events, leagues and outings.
• Complete the requirements of PGA membership and maintain an active classification in the PGA.
