Description
Stoney Creek Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced, compassionate Medical Director to lead our full-service veterinary practice nestled between Greensboro and Burlington, North Carolina. This role is ideal for a veterinarian enthusiastic about high-quality medicine, collaborative leadership, and fostering an outstanding care culture while maintaining an active clinical case load along with dedicated administration time to focus on elevating SOC, lead medical protocols, and drive hospital growth.
As Medical Director, you will have the opportunity to guide medical standards, mentor our talented team, and partner with practice leadership to support continued growth and excellence.

Your Role as Medical Director
In this key leadership position, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and support veterinarians and clinical staff to advance medical excellence and professional growth
- Ability to practice advanced medical care with a team of dedicated, credentialed nurses to support you
- Establish and maintain medical protocols, standards of care, and compliance initiatives
- Partner with hospital leadership on strategic planning, operational performance, and client experience initiatives
- Foster a positive, collaborative culture that supports excellence in patient care
- Lead team meetings, recruitment, performance reviews, and continuous improvement efforts
- Continue clinical practice while serving as a clinical leader and role model
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
- Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of employment
- Ideally, 5+ years of practice experience
- Positive and effective leadership
- Ability to manage staff and outcomes with emotional intelligence
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
- Delegation of tasks and achieving results with practice team members
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
