Description
Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is recruiting full time experienced Legal Assistant to provide high-level support to attorneys specializing in litigation in the area of Guardianship law. The ideal candidate is organized, diligent, takes initiative and can work both independently and as part of a team. This is a challenging role with varied responsibilities. Must have experience in a legal environment and posses a strong understanding of litigation procedures and documentation.
Responsibilities
Communicate with clients in person, over the phone, and via email
Draft, proofread, and file or send legal documents, such as motions or letters of intent
Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining lawyers’ calendars, scheduling appointments and hearings, making photocopies, scanning and compiling complex documentation
Create and maintain electronic and hard copy case files
Screen, direct, and prioritize incoming calls and emails to lawyers
Enter data into case management system
Starting salary range is $39,000.00-$52,000.00 yearly dependent upon experience with annual increases available. Requirements
Required skills and qualifications
Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Experience with legal forms, documents, Court practices and procedures
Knowledge of online court filing systems
Experience working with multiple lawyers simultaneously
Excellent computer skills and experience with Word, Excel and Outlook software programs
