Overview

Established in 1890, Westhampton is a private club located on eastern Long Island in Westhampton Beach, New York.  The course was designed by Seth Raynor (his first solo design) in 1915 and was restored in 2008 by Gil Hanse. Westhampton is currently ranked 24 th on the Golf Digest "Best Courses in New York" list.  The club offers 18 holes, a wonderful practice facility and tennis for its members.

 

Job Description:

The Lead Assistant Golf Professional position will be a 7-month seasonal position from approximately early April through October (flexible).  The position will assist in the management of the daily golf operation with specific focus on instruction, tournament management, golf shop operations, junior golf programs, and club fitting.  Specific experience in instruction, tournament operations and leadership will be critical for this position.  The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to become a Head Golf Professional in the future as Westhampton CC has proven to be a club and operation where professionals can advance their career.  In the past eight years, five assistant professionals have become Head Professionals with three of those advancing directly from WCC.

Job Qualifications:

• PGA Member or PGA Associate
• The ideal candite will be able to show through past and present effort the desire to become an elite instructor and future Head Golf Professional.
• Proficient computer user with experience in Golf Genius, Microsoft Word/Excel, Adobe and other general computer applications.

Compensation:

• Includes competitive salary, private golf instruction income, and performance bonus. All in range of 80K-110K+

Head Professional Bio:

 

Kirk Satterfield will be beginning his ninth year as the Head Professional at Westhampton Country Club. Most recently, he was the Head Professional at The Golf Club of Purchase. Prior to his stint at Purchase, Kirk spent two seasons at Sebonack Golf Club and seven seasons at Deepdale Golf Club. Kirk was the 2004 PGA National Assistant's Champion and the 2022 Met PGA Merchandiser of the Year.
