OverviewLead Assistant Golf Professional
Killearn Club is seeking a motivated PGA Class A Professional to join our Professional Staff as a Lead Assistant Golf Professional. This role is designed to allow the successful candidate to prove value across every aspect of the Club's golf operation. Our program emphasizes professional growth, hands-on experience, and preparation for future leadership roles within the golf industry.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Lead Assistant Golf Professional will be expected to carefully and correctly perform the following duties:
- Manage and oversee the golf simulators located inside the clubhouse, including scheduling, operation, and member experience
- Assist in managing outside golf operations, including daily setup and course readiness
- Lead, train, and supervise the Outside Services staff
- Assist in organizing and executing tournaments and events utilizing Golf Genius
- Assist with all facets of golf shop merchandising, including inventory control and special orders
- Support the Head Professional and Director of Golf with daily operations and member services
- Provide instruction, coaching, and player development when appropriate
- Actively engage with the membership and contribute to a positive club culture
Professional Development & Playing Opportunities
- Professional Staff members are encouraged to play golf with the membership when time permits
- Continued professional development, teaching, and coaching are encouraged and supported
Schedule & Work Environment
- Expected to work 5-6 days per week
- Approximately 45-55 hours per week during peak season
- Hours include time spent on instruction, coaching, tournaments, and club events
Qualifications
- PGA Class A Professional in good standing
- Prior experience in private club or high-end golf operations required
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with Golf Genius and simulator technology is a plus
- Passion for service, teaching, and career advancement in the golf industry
Experience Required
The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of 3 years experience at a private club or high-end resort, Trackman experience is required and must be familiar with Trackman Range, have a good understanding of Golf Genius tournament software, and have a strong interest in becoming a future Head Golf Professional. Must be PGA Class A in good standing, however exceptions will be made for PGA Associates in Level 3 with the right experience.
