Overview

Bloomington Country Club is a member-owned private club located in Bloomington, Indiana. Bloomington is home to Indiana University and 45 minutes south of Indianapolis. Bloomington Country Club opened in 1921. The golf course is currently under a restoration project. The course is projected to open in June 2026. The club's other amenities include paddle (tennis and pickleball) and swimming pool. The lead assistant will be responsible for assisting with the management of the daily golf operation including managing and tracking play, merchandising, tournament operations, and servicing the membership to ensure a great member experience. The lead assistant will be responsible for assisting in the supervision of the shop staff and outside operations staff. The ideal candidate will be customer service driven, goal oriented, a problem solver and a servant leader. This position will report to the head golf professional.

Experience Required

• Two years prior experience at a private club is preferred
• PGA Member/Associate
• Proficient with Golf Genius and Microsoft Office
• Experienced with Tee Time management software and POS software

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist the head golf professional in all aspects of the golf operation
• Carry out the operational guidelines set forth by the head golf professional and club
• Provide the highest level of service to both members and guests
• Managing daily member play through tee sheet management, pace of play, and member interaction.
• Merchandising including re-stocking/re-ordering, special orders, inventory control, and day to day operation of the golf shop
• Managing tournament operations through Golf Genius software
• Supervising shop staff and outside operations staff
• Assist with Ladies and Junior golf programs
• Basic club repair
• Promote the game of golf through private lessons, clinics, and club fitting
