Description
OverviewHillcrest Country Club started in 1927 on the northeast side of Indianapolis, IN. Currently the club has a member roster of 310 and is an event-oriented club as it relates to golf and social calendars. Hillcrest is a member run club with a board of directors. The club is seeking a highly motivated First Assistant Golf Professional who is a PGA Member or PGA Associate. The First Assistant will work together with PGA Head Golf Professional Ryan Maier to provide members with memorable experiences each day in a fun and exciting work environment. The current golf staff is youthful, energetic, outgoing, and friendly. The club is seeking a proper fit in this manner for the overall benefit of the staff and membership. This is a role with opportunity for rapid growth in the industry.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience as an Assistant Golf Professional. The candidate should be familiar with Golf Genius Tournament Software and how to operate a POS/Tee Sheet System. He or she should have a customer-service mentality and be willing to assist with merchandise sales and displays in the golf shop. The ability to provide golf instruction to members is expected and provides a great source of additional income. Regripping and club repair services are also a great source of income for this position. The candidate is expected to be a good golfer and will have the opportunity to play with members at given times.
This position offers a full staff deal among many other benefits listed in the posting. This position can expect roughly 32-40 hours in the Winter Months and 40-50 hours in the busy season. The Head Golf Professional will work to give ALL staff members two days off each week, though this position may have a few weeks during busy times where that is not guaranteed. The candidate should be eager to learn from the Head Golf Professional, with hopes of becoming a Head Golf Professional in the future.
Experience Required
- 2-5 years in the private club or equivalent property
- Jonas point of sale experience
- Golf Genius program knowledge
- Managing people with the ability to write a schedule
- Proven history of maintaining quality and excellence
- Friendly and engaging personality
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage the golf service staff along with golf shop staff
- Maintain daily tips for all staff
- Utilize Jonas point of sale to book tee times, check members and guest in, and make sales
- Maintain clean areas around the golf shop, bag room, and cart storage area.
- Organize, communicate, and conduct ladies' clinics
- Orchestrate Junior Golf Camp
- Coach PGA Jr League team
- Assist the Head Professional with MGA events and member guest.
- Conduct business so that it is member and guest focused.
