Strader’s Garden Centers Grove City Wholesale location is seeking an Assistant Grower to support daily greenhouse and growing operations. This role is hands-on and detail-driven, requiring solid horticultural knowledge and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.

About the Role

The Assistant Grower supports daily greenhouse and growing operations, working hands-on with crops while learning the science, strategy, and timing behind successful production. This is a growth role for someone who wants to deepen their horticultural expertise and build a long-term career in growing.

What You’ll Do

Assist with crop production from propagation through finish
Monitor plant health, irrigation, fertility, and environmental conditions
Identify and respond to crop issues including pests, disease, and nutritional deficiencies
Support integrated pest management (IPM) practices
Collect, track, and maintain accurate crop and production records
Work closely with the Head Grower to execute production plans
Help maintain clean, organized, and efficient growing spaces
Support seasonal production demands as needed

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

Degree or coursework in Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field
(or equivalent hands-on growing experience)
Ability to recognize problems early and take appropriate action 
Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
Willingness to learn, ask questions, and get your hands dirty
