OverviewRyan Sharp, Nantucket Golf Club's Head Professional and Co-Head Professional at Augusta National Golf Club is looking for candidates that have a passion for what they do. Our pay is very competitive, and benefits vary for seasonal or year-round staff. All our staff enjoy the fulfillment of working with a great team in a beautiful location, but those who enjoy golf have the opportunity to play and practice on our world-class course. We offer subsidized housing in our on-property dormitory or in shared off-site residential houses, an employee meal program, uniform, staff golf clinics, and discounts in our golf shop. In addition, we offer a 401K plan to returning employees who meet eligibility requirements. Traditional full-benefit packages are available for full-time, year-round staff.

Qualifications:
Candidates that display a caring attitude and prides themselves on providing anticipatory service with a high attention to detail. Polished and professional in manner and appearance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, Publisher, POS System, Tee Time Software, GolfGenius)
- Proficient organizational skills
- Capacity to anticipate and skilled in multi-tasking at a high level
- Ability to work well with others and adapt to new situations
Experience/Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, College education preferred
- A solid background of golf knowledge
- Previous golf shop experience, preferred
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Work tasks are performed mainly indoors in and around the golf shop and its storage locations.
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather.
- Requires frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling, intervals of walking, standing, and sitting during the day.
- Requires communicating effectively with members, guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Must be able to lift and transport up to 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Projected Work Schedule: This job requires a candidate to work a full time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Average hours worked week is approximately 40-50 hours. An additional work-day may be required during a tournament week. Any expected absence from this work schedule will need to have prior approval from the Head Golf Professional.

Purpose of Position: Under the direction of the Head Golf Professional, the Golf Shop Assistant is a non-exempt, seasonal position responsible for attending to members and guests in the Golf Shop and assisting in its successful operation. Ensures the highest level of service as meets expectations of Club members. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below and in the spirit of the Club's mission and vision. Demonstrates a caring attitude and enjoys customer service success stories.
Responsibilities:
- Provides a welcoming and responsive environment to members and their guests; reserves tee times, books lessons, answers phone, maintains a friendly, positive, helping, and motivated attitude at all times.
- Sells and promotes Golf Shop products in a professional, informative, friendly manner.
- Provides premier customer service to our members and their guests and stays knowledgeable of shop products and vendors.
- Works to ensure member satisfaction and creates an inviting shopping environment.
- Possesses a thorough understanding of the point-of-sale system and sales settlements.
- Assists Golf Shop Business Manager with displays as directed.
- Maintains merchandise through steaming, folding, and proper storage procedures.
- Responsible for proper shipping functions using FedEx, UPS, USPS, or Shipsticks
- Maintains accurate record keeping of all Demo and Rental club usage and inventories.
- Maintains special order log, to include contacting vendors to place orders, follow up with customers, and proper receiving of merchandise.
- Assists with scheduling and promoting demo days and trunk shows.
- Assists with tournaments and other club special events. Is aware of Club activities and promotes them to members.
- Assists with inventory management; helps manage par stocks and conduct monthly inventories. Minimizes shrink by following inventory control procedures.
- Assists with junior camps, employee clinics, club repair, and hosting guest groups (must be a registered apprentice with the PGA).
- Participates in brainstorm sessions to improve standard operating procedures and recommend future improvements to golf operation. Attends and conducts golf and Club related meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as designated by the Head Golf Professional.
