Overview

The Assistant Golf Professional at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club plays a key role in delivering an exceptional golf experience for members and guests. This service-oriented professional assists in all areas of daily golf operations, including member relations, merchandising, instruction, event coordination, and supervision of outside services. The Assistant Golf Professional supports the Head Golf Professional in ensuring a smooth, efficient, and enjoyable experience both on and off the course.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 2 year of experience in the golf industry or related golf operations field.
• PGA Associate or PGA Member status preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

• Administer all aspects of the point-of-sale (POS) system for green fees, merchandise, and member/guest billing.
• Manage and reconcile daily tee sheets, perform check-ins, and process payments accurately.
• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, including duplicate charges, no-shows, and force-posts.
• Promote and facilitate participation in club tournaments, events, and instructional programs.
• Assist in the creation and delivery of individual and group golf instruction, following established teaching standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked golf shop with a strong focus on visual presentation and member service.
• Prepare all materials for tournaments and outings, including scorecards, cart signage, rules sheets, scoreboards, and pairings.
• Oversee and assist with handicap management and USGA score posting compliance.
• Follow all opening and closing procedures for the golf operation.
• Provide leadership and support to outside services staff, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism.

• Model and deliver exceptional service to enhance member and guest satisfaction.
• Communicate new or updated policies and procedures to golf staff.
• Maintain flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional.
