Job Overview
The Facilities Manager/Security Assistant will take full responsibility for managing company facilities located in Huntsville AL, ensuring operational continuity and efficient utilization of space across the three local corporate offices, manufacturing plants, and classified locations.
This individual will also act as the Security Assistant under the direction of the FSO, playing a vital role in supporting the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in maintaining the integrity and compliance of the organization's security program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
This role requires a proactive individual who can independently manage vendor relationships, drive facility improvements, and support compliance efforts while reporting directly to the Vice President of Facilities & Security.
Basic Qualifications
- Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of all facilities, infrastructure, and support systems across multiple owned and leased locations.
- Lead vendor and contractor relationships, including selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring.
- Execute space planning and office utilization initiatives, including layout optimization and coordination of moves, adds, and changes.
- Collaborate with safety teams to assist in maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Provide timely response to critical facility incidents outside normal hours, including emergencies related to fire alarms and security breaches.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and service activities.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes with HR to align facility and space allocation requirements.
- Provide after-hours emergency response capability in collaboration with the FSO and other security personnel.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven facilities management experience with responsibility for multi-site operations, including manufacturing and secure environments.
- Prior experience within DoD contractor or government contractor facilities preferred.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; prior clearance preferred.
- Strong vendor negotiation skills and ability to independently manage outsourced services.
- Demonstrated hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), facility management software (e.g., Archibus, FM:Systems), and CMMS.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Standard business hours with limited after-hours emergency response.
- Solo contributor role with vendor management responsibilities.
- Collaborative interface with security, safety, manufacturing, and executive leadership teams.
