Description
DescriptionThe Simulation Nurse is a BSN-prepared registered nurse who will support the design, facilitation, implementation, and debriefing of simulation-based education for undergraduate nursing students. This is a grant-supported position with a focus on geriatric, rural, and long-term care settings. The Simulation Nurse plays a central role in achieving the grant objectives related to simulation training, student readiness for acute and long-term care practice. The position will also receive mentorship and support in pursuing potential pathways as a nurse educator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and facilitate high-fidelity, mid-fidelity, virtual reality, and task-trainer simulation experiences related to geriatric care, community and rural health, long-term care, and acute care concepts.
- Conduct structured debriefing using evidence-based model.
- Collaborate with grant team, simulation team, and graduate assistants.
- Assist grant and simulation team in maintaining evaluation information.
Terms of Appointment
The beginning date of the appointment is January 2026 or as soon as hiring process is completed. The grant extends to the Fall of 2029.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
Current, unencumbered RN license.
Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with preference for experience in long-term care, geriatrics, community/rural health, acute care.
Experience working with diverse populations and commitment to inclusive learning environments.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Comfort with technology, simulation equipment, and learning management systems (training will be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in simulation-based education, including facilitation or debriefing.
Experience precepting nursing student.
Preference given to nurses interested in pursuing Nurse Educator Academic career
