Description

Park Township, Ottawa County, Michigan is seeking a full-time Community Development Department Assistant to provide customer service and administrative support by responding to inquiries and performing varied administrative, clerical, and accounting tasks. This is a public-facing role that includes issuing building permits and preparing and maintaining accurate records, documents, and reports pertaining to the department.   

Requirements

Required qualifications: 

•         High school diploma
•         Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel
•         Ability to operate standard office equipment
•         Speak and write clearly

Preferred qualifications: 

•         Previous administrative support and/or customer service experience
•         Experience with basic accounting and/or invoice reconciliations
•         Knowledge of BS&A software
•         Knowledge of zoning, land use, or construction concepts
•         Experience reading maps and construction documents
•         Ability to communicate effectively in situations requiring patience and tact
•         Demonstrated ability and willingness to problem-solve
