Colon and Rectal Surgeon
The University of Utah is seeking to recruit a board-eligible/board certified Colon and Rectal Surgeon to join the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Current fellows and early to mid-career surgeons are encouraged to apply. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a well-established and supportive program in a great location to work and live. The recruit will join a group of five surgeons supported by a Physician Assistant, General Surgical Residents, and an ACGME accredited Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellow. This FTE allotment for this position will be 0.90 clinical with 0.10 time allowed for professional development in the pillars of investigation, administration, or education.
As the tertiary referral center for the largest geographic catchment area in the continental US, the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery provides evaluation and management for a wide range of colon and rectal diseases. We have a robust clinical practice including complex multidisciplinary care of colorectal cancer, IBD, and pelvic floor disorders. The surgeons also serve as teaching faculty for the University of Utah General Surgery Residency Program and Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship. Leadership opportunities within the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, or Department of Surgery may exist for the appropriate candidate.

- No general surgery or trauma call
- Shared weekend call with surgical oncology (approximately 1:10)

Requirements:
- Board eligible or board certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery
- Strong clinical productivity
- MIS experience (laparoscopy and robotics)
- Ability to work in a collegial manner
- Desire and ability to support the academic and educational mission of the University of Utah
