Description

The Assistant Superintendent will play a key role in managing daily crew activities and scheduling. Working closely with the Superintendent, the successful candidate will help develop and implement short-term and long-term agronomic strategies for the maintenance of the golf course. Responsibilities will include overseeing chemical and fertilizer applications, preparing the course for play, scheduling and repairing irrigation systems, managing projects, and planning and executing routine maintenance tasks.

Educational Requirements

• 2 or 4 year degree in golf/sports turf management or a related field.
• Applicant must possess an Illinois spray license or be able to obtain one within 60 days of hire.

Experience Requirements

• Knowledge of golf maintenance operations.
• Experience with fertilizer and chemical applications.
• Experience in irrigation repair, disease identification, and water management.
