Wilderness Country Club, a private 18-hole golf community located in beautiful Naples, Florida, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to help lead our experienced maintenance team. Our course features Paspalum fairways and Tif-Eagle greens , with a complete renovation planned for 2028 , offering a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting transformation.

Most of our maintenance staff has been with Wilderness for over a decade, reflecting a strong team culture and stable work environment. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in golf course management while learning alongside a dedicated and knowledgeable crew.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Golf Course Superintendent in daily operations and long-term planning
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff, ensuring high standards of course conditioning
• Communicate clearly and professionally with both staff and club members
• Identify course needs and provide attention to detail in all aspects of turf care
• Assist with scheduling, irrigation management, and application of fertilizers and plant protectants
• Lead by example with a hands-on, proactive approach

Qualifications:

• A self-starter with a strong work ethic and keen eye for detail
• Prior experience in golf course maintenance preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Florida Pesticides license within 90 days

2 or 4 year Degree or Turf Certificate

Understanding of Golf and course set up

2 to 4 years of course management experience

Problem solving and organizational skills are necessary
