The Assistant will work with all members of the Agronomy team with daily direct communication with the Superintendent and Senior Assistant Superintendent. Training will be provided for new employees of all skill levels with all new jobs. That being said, at least two seasons of previous Golf Course experience are required. Great opportunity to advance in this profession with club commitment to turf education. Attitude, work ethic, and ability to communicate efficiently are essential qualities for this position.

Key responsibilities

• This individual works closely with the superintendent and senior assistant to supervise, schedule, and train a crew of full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees. Practice and enforce safe work practices. Provide safety training for employees.
• Assists in supervision and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, fescue/native areas and other course features.
• Perform basic mowing tasks, course setup and cultural practices.
• Apply fertilizers and plant protectants. Record all applications and ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Involved in soil moisture and plant health monitoring and irrigation practices for the course.
• Participate in and eventually lead small groups on special tasks and projects.

• Minimum of 2 years golf course maintenance experience
• The ability to obtain a WI pesticide license within a year of hire
