Description
The University of South Alabama Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work invites applications for a full-time (9-month), tenure-track Assistant Professor of Social Work position to begin August 15, 2026. ABD candidates may be considered; however, an earned PhD in Social Work or a related field is required at the time of appointment. Applicants should be able to teach across the generalist social work curriculum and will be responsible for classroom teaching and field liaison work as needed. Candidates who complement current departmental expertise and those whose strengths include community practice, policy, and research are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must have an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program plus a minimum of two years post-master's practice experience. Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong teaching skills, scholarship, and community engagement. The successful applicant will work as a team member with other social work faculty in activities related to curriculum and program development, CSWE reaffirmation, and program assessment.
