The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry beginning August 2026. We seek candidates with expertise in biochemistry or a closely related field, with preference given to those who can also contribute to our general chemistry curriculum. A successful candidate hired to this position will be expected to teach biochemistry, advanced biochemistry, and related laboratory experiences and teach in the general chemistry curriculum. The department has a strong tradition of faculty-mentored undergraduate research, and the successful candidate is expected to establish an active research program that meaningfully involves undergraduate students. In addition to maintaining an engaging research agenda, the position includes student advising and participation in departmental and college service. We are especially interested in candidates who demonstrate a deep commitment to undergraduate education, collaborative mentoring, inclusive teaching practices, and active engagement with the college and broader community.
Job Requirements:
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or closely related discipline and evidence of teaching ability are required. Candidates with postdoctoral training are preferred and experience teaching undergraduates, both in lecture and in the laboratory, is preferable
