- Assistant Professor in Acute Care/Critical Care Surgery

Tulane University School of Medicine's Department of Surgery is seeking candidates for a clinical faculty position in Acute Care/Critical Care Surgery at the assistant professor level.
This position is based primarily at East Jefferson General Hospital, Tulane’s principal teaching affiliate in the metropolitan New Orleans area. The clinical practice will focus on emergency general surgery and surgical intensive care. The SICU includes a diverse and high-acuity case mix, including acute care surgery patients, post-operative abdominal transplant patients, and complex surgical patients from subspecialties including surgical oncology, ENT, and orthopedics. Opportunities to develop an elective general surgery practice are available, including robotic and minimally invasive surgery.
This position offers a focused practice in emergency general surgery and surgical critical care without dedicated trauma call responsibilities. Candidates with interest in maintaining trauma exposure may explore opportunities aligned with their individual career goals.
